PCC Cascade Campus - Portland, Oregon: Project engineer and project manager for geotechnial design and engineering for two new multi-story facilites with a single story of underground parking, beneath and between the two new buildings.
Timmen Road Rehabilitation - Clark County, Washington: Over three miles of PCC pavement is being demoed and the road re-paved. Project includes minor widening with the design of gravity retaining walls. Old Highway 99 will be removed, crushed in-place, and replaced as sub-base, followed by new asphalt concrete pavement surfacing.
Flavel Maintenance Yard - Portland, Oregon: Construction observation and design during construction for new City of Portland Parks and Recreation maintenance facility. Challenges include evaluating the presence of soft soil and how to mitigate anticipated settlement while maintaining the current construction schedule.
Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Kleinfelder. - Portland, Oregon April 2009 – November 2011
Project Engineer responsible for all aspects of project management and engineering from investigation through construction including coordination and communication with clients, municipalities, contractors, and sub-contractors. Responsible for preparing project scope, budget, and proposals; developing and overseeing field investigations and laboratory testing programs; completing engineering analyses; preparing technical reports; and observing geotechnical aspects of construction. Recent projects include:
Geotechnical Engineer providing technical support and managing projects through both design and construction. Projects included:
Solar Energy Development - Acted as the project manager for multiple PV solar developments throughout the southwest US, New Jersey, and North Carolina. Lead teams to complete several in-house and subcontracted services concurrently to meet tight deadlines and short timelines including environmental site assessment, geotechnical evaluation, site survey, natural and cultural resource studies, permitting assessment.
I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening - Los Angeles, California: Working as part of company-wide team in the preparation of Geotechnical Design Reports (GDRs) for all three segments of the 10-mile alignment. Mapped subgrade conditions along the entire alignment for use by the design team in developing pavement section thicknesses. Completed retaining wall reports which included supporting MSE walls on pile supported slabs to avoid impacting an existing, 12' by 12' box culvert.
I-15 CORE - Salt Lake City, Utah: Completed elastic and consolidation settlement analyses for multiple roadway and bridge embankments implementing several different soil profiles. Evaluations included settlement timing, magnitude, and the need for and configuration of wick drains.
Sunrise Corridor (Hwy 212/224) Realignment - Clackamas, Oregon: Prepared updates for the FEIS associated with the preferred alignment. Geotechnical-related issues along the alignment include grading near mapped landslides, settlement of large embankment fills, liquefaction settlement, and foundation support for several new bridge structures.
